Paul Sanford
Paul Sanford was the first candidate to announce, and has decisively won the battle of the yard signs. He has probably knocked on more doors than the other candidates. His conservative values connect well. Paul has made a major issue concerning illegal immigration. Paul owns Little Paul's Barbecue near the Hospital, which holds a Bible Study on Thursday mornings. Paul is an active member in Willowbrook Baptist Church.

Paul Sanford says:
I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment right to bear arms. I enjoy hunting to unwind from my daily duties as a restaurant owner. I take my 13-year old son Chase with me on hunting trips and have taught him that gun safety, responsibility, and conservation of our natural resources are obligations that come with gun ownership.
I believe if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Most guns used in crimes are purchased off the streets by one criminal from another, not from licensed gun dealers.
Laura Hall on the issues:
Rep Laura Hall has run a campaign absent of main steam issues.
Says she is for "Change" and makes positive reference to Obama, but has made the issues of the day of little consequence.
Voted for Pay raise and supports Medical marijuana.
In a ranking of the issues published by Conservative Christians of Alabama, Laura Hall was at the bottom of the ranking and rated one of the most liberal state legislators. On 30 key votes, Laura Hall voted liberal 90% of the time.

The Huntsville Times endorsement.
In the June 9 Election the Huntsville Times has chosen not to endorse any candidate. The views of the Huntsville Times more clearly reflect the liberal agenda and record of Laura Hall. To endorse someone as liberal as ultra liberal Laura Hall would do a lot to destroy the image of objectivity that they are trying to build.

District Boundaries
Boundaries of the district.
Tennessee State Line on the North.
West is roughly the Flint River.
South is roughly Martin Road, and the area south east of the Parkway. Major exceptions are a couple of boxes in southwest Huntsville, south of Martin Road. In southeast Huntsville, there are several neighborhoods, south of Martin Road. For example, those who vote at Southwood Presbyterian Church.
West Boundary. Mostly area east of Ardmore Highway (Hwy 53).
South of University, the district goes to mostly near the city of Madison.
